What We Do. How We Do It.

Gaia Energy is a leading international large-scale developer company in Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Power-to-X projects, spearheading initiatives across emerging markets.

In emerging markets, the gap between a promising site and a bankable project is where most developers fail. Gaia’s proprietary development process was built to close that gap — consistently, across technologies and jurisdictions.

This is not a positioning claim — it is a description of what our teams do every day, in the field, across 15+ countries. Large-scale development in emerging markets requires a specific combination of capabilities that most international developers do not possess: deep local knowledge, regulatory fluency, technical engineering expertise, financial structuring skills and the political relationships to navigate complex permitting environments. Gaia has built all of these capabilities in-house, under a single integrated development process.

How We Work

Full-Cycle Development, Finance and Operations

Gaia Energy provides renewable energy and hydrogen development, reliable investments, and specific services covering the whole life cycle of a project in wind, solar, green hydrogen, and derivatives such as ammonia, e-Methanol, and electrical natural gas. Our core business is to develop, finance, construct, and operate large-scale renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in emerging markets. We deliver world-class renewable project development under our process “Gaia Project Development Process.”

Our experienced team and contractors possess all the skills and expertise required to design, develop, build, and operate renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. Our wide range of services and experience in the sector enables us to deliver optimal and complete solutions for large-scale wind, solar, and hydrogen power plants. We are unique in our ability to offer vertically integrated skills in a range of sustainable energy technologies. We can take a project from inception to generation. We combine technical, economic, and political expertise with local knowledge to strengthen our macro-economic analysis in the emerging new markets. Gaia Energy has financial and industrial expertise, providing a unique competitive advantage among project developers and allowing for more comprehensive asset management of projects.

The phrase ‘from inception to generation’ is not a slogan — it reflects the full in-house capability stack that Gaia has deliberately built over 15+ years. The institutional knowledge built at origination is still active at COD. No hand-offs. No accountability gaps.

Development Process

Gaia Project Development Process

Our Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen projects follow a strong development process from Project Identification to the Ready-to-Build phase, leading to the Financial Close. The process begins with the careful selection of the most valuable sites, considering factors such as wind and solar potential resources, grid access, land conditions, and environmental impact.

Each stage gate has defined deliverables and exit criteria. No project advances without the technical, regulatory and commercial foundations that lenders require. The discipline is non-negotiable.

01

Project Identification

  • Site identification
  • Wind & Solar resource
  • Access
  • Grid
  • +2 more
Resource potential, grid proximity, land access, environmental constraints — all assessed before committing a single dollar of development capital. We only advance sites that can become bankable projects.
02

Mid Stage Development

  • SPV creation
  • Land securing
  • Met & solar mast installation
  • E&S screening
  • +4 more
SPV created, land rights secured, 12-month measurement campaign underway. By the end of mid stage, the project has a defined technical and commercial baseline — and a risk register that reflects reality.
03

Late Stage Development

  • Full ESIA
  • Geotech/Geophys surveys
  • Bathymetry
  • Topography study
  • +8 more
Full ESIA, geotechnical surveys, grid connection study finalised with the national operator, basic design and feed engineering complete. By late stage, every material technical risk has been quantified and addressed.
04

Ready-to-Build

  • Land acquisition
  • Permitting
  • EPC & O&M contracts
  • WTG selection
  • +4 more
All permits in place. Land acquired. Technology selected. PPA and grid connection agreement executed or in final negotiation. RTB is the stage at which institutional investors can deploy capital with full visibility on project risk.
05

Financial Close

  • Equity structuring
  • Debt structuring
  • Security package
  • Lenders' DDs
Full capital stack structured — equity, senior debt, security package. Lenders' due diligence coordinated directly by Gaia. Financial close is where 15+ months of development rigour is validated by the market.
06

Operations & Admin

  • General administration
  • Manage daily operations
  • Local authority link
Gaia stays in the project after financial close. Permitting continuity, regulatory compliance, community relations, asset oversight — the same team that built the project protects its value through operations.

Project Promotion & Stakeholder Engagement

To reach a wide audience of stakeholders for the propagation of energy projects. Target different types of stakeholder: government agency representatives and policy makers, Investors/Lenders, technology owners, EPC O&M companies. To participate in high level presentations/workshops/conferences at national and international level to collect business intelligence, enhance networking and to attract investors.

We engage energy ministries, DFIs, industrial offtakers and institutional investors as active participants in our project ecosystem — not as an audience. Our presence at international forums is deliberate relationship development, not brand-building.
